Hired Gun at a Denver Wedding

This is a first for me. I was hired by a photo agency to shoot part of a wedding very last minute in Denver this weekend. Although everything went fine, I could not help but agonize over the fact that I didn’t know my Bride and Groom. Usually I am good friends with my clients by the time the wedding comes. This one, not so much. Although they were a great couple and very easy to work with, I did not know them. I just wish I had more time to get to know them. Not an easy thing for me to swallow. *sigh*

Nicole and Doug – A Lighted Ceremony

Occasionaly a bride and groom will give me total creative freedom, which is a great thing, but sometimes it’s almost crucial. Such was the case with Nicole and Doug’s wedding. The church they were married in was very, very dark. So dark in fact that I knew I would need to light it in order to attain acceptable images. These are the results. I love it more than words can say when my clients trust me. So this post in heavy in ceremony images to show all you future brides out there in blog land what you can get with a lighted ceremony, and the right photographer.

A cord of three strands is not easily broken – Ecclesiastes 4:12

Love this shot

Tiny bandits kidnapped Nicole during the reception, and held her for randsom. Me thinks this is the Colorado version of the dollar dance.

Katie and Josh’s Keystone Wedding

Katie and Josh had one of my favorite weddings to date. They were married in Keystone Colorado, at the Keystone Ski Resort. Incredible scenery everywhere. THIS is why Sarah and I moved to Colorado!

Katie’s ladies. The far bridesmaid is Becka, Matron of Honor extraordinaire. She was huge help.

Nice, I love the Colorado lifestyle

Megan and Lee’s Wedding

7-7-7 the most popular wedding date in history. My thoughts often wondered to a very nice couple that had originally requested us for this date in Seminole Florida, but with our move to Colorado, it just wasn’t feasible for us and would have put us in a hardship that I could not allow. But I never forgot about Johnny and his fiance, and how bad I felt about having to decline their commission. I hate telling people “no”. We did however find them another great photographer, and I’m sure she did them well.
Anyhow, the wedding I did shoot was of Megan and Lee Chasco.

The only music during the ceremony was a bagpiper. You might think this would be odd, but it was very powerful. The piper played as the Bride came down the isle, and when the Bride and Groom went back down the isle. Well done.

“Welcome to the Navy ma’am” WHACK!!

The best cake topper ever. Megan and Lee had this custom made to look like them. Megan is a “wee Scotish lass”. Notice her hair!

The most popular wedding date in history

It’s rainin’ men………..Halleujuia (the girls had a good time with this song) VERY funny!

LOVE this shot. There is a whole series of these.

Stuck on this image

Alyssa and I photographed the wedding of Megan and Lee this weekend. Alyssa is a photojournalist from Kentucky, and after the wedding we were just stuck on stupid looking at this image. So I figured I’d share it with everone. We like it, we love it, we want some more of it.
