I just learned that I placed 13th in the latest Artistic Guild of the Wedding Photojournalist Association contest! That almost takes the sting out of being away from home. I’m in Florida right now shooting a string of weddings….sigh…..and Sarah is back in Colorado.

This blog post is in response to the WPJA request for extraordinary wedding stories. The WPJA was contacted by PEOPLE magazine, looking for extraordinary wedding stories.
Bethany and Richard were married in November of last year, in Pensacola, Florida. Bethany is a 22 year old bride, while Richard, her groom is a 39 year old Marine Corps attack helicopter pilot. Bethanny and Richard were married in a miltary ceremony complete with an honor guard. Unfortunately, Bethany and Richard had to part directly after the honeymoon due to Richard’s militarty status and the war on terrorism. Richard, a Marine Corps Major, is still away from his bride.
