We are scheduling the shoots on both weekdays and weekends.
Weekdays
We have opened up the schedule on the vast majority of weekdays. To maximize both the beauty of our natural landscape, and especially the quality of the natural light, we are scheduling the sessions during the evening hours (after work hours). This allows everyone to schedule their shoots after work on weekdays. It also allows us to work during the earlier parts of the day on all of the other aspects of our business. It’s a win-win.

Weekends
With the exception of Saturdays that we have already booked for weddings, all Saturdays and Sundays are wide open for Groupon shoots! We understand that many families only have the weekends to take care of things like these, so every daylight hour of most weekends will be open to choose.

If, by chance, this creates a problem, we will extend it further out to allow scheduling farther than 30 days in advance. This location has everything a great portrait is comprised of. Secondly, choosing only one location is what has allowed us to give such a deep discount on our Groupon. We are able to stay in one ideal location, and pass the cost savings on to you. FAQs
1) Can I use the Groupon for something other than a Family Portrait Session?
Of course! Anything you like.
2) How long will it take to get my 11×14 enlargement?
Our printing lab provides next day shipping. With image enhancement, and shipping the total time from shoot to arrival will be about 3 days.
3) How many photos will you take?
Each shoot is different, however an average session will contain about 40-70 images to choose from. More for larger families, less for families of Gnomes.
4) Will you take photos of each individual?
We will most certainly take multiple photos of each person in your family/group, as well as multiple group photos. You will also be given the opportunity to order additional prints for whichever images you like. This is not a requirement however.
5) What should we wear?
We recommend clothing. (See below for the “Preparing For Your Portrait Session” PDF which has useful information on clothing choices and much more)
6) Is your team well versed in photographing children?
We have been photographing children for many years, and know many tricks to bring out that often times elusive little smile.
7) Can we purchase additional prints other than the 11×14?
Absolutely, we have a full catalog of print sizes, and lots of other goodies that will be available to not only see and touch, but also to order during the second half of your session. Please download our PrintPricing PDF for more information.
8 ) Is there anything we are forgetting to ask about, or should we know anything special that hasn’t been covered?
Nope. Everything on this web page and the PDF below addresses everything you need to know about a portrait session. You may have special considerations for your family, however well planned portrait sessions with an experienced photography team are usually quick, and quite fun.
9 ) Is the glass half-full, or half-empty?
The glass has a water/air ratio of exactly 50%.

How your Session will go:
As we mentioned, we have chosen the perfect location for these Groupon portrait sessions. The decision to shoot in one location is primarily what has allowed us to offer these Groupon sessions at such a deep discount. (See below for location and map). After you schedule your session (instructions below), we will meet at the location where all of our equipment will be set up prior to the shoot making it fast, easy, and comfortable. Your session will last for a full hour. Half of this time will be spent choosing that perfect image for your enlargement. We will record your choices, and order your high quality enlargement the same evening. Your print will be ready to pick up 3 days after your session. We have even arranged for a discount at a local frame shop if you choose to utilize it. Academy Frame, located on North Academy Blvd. across from Whole Foods, has generously offered a full 15% discount on all framing for our clients. Thanks Kim! Just simply mention “Brad Walters Photography” and “Groupon” at Academy Frame here in Colorado Springs, and you will receive a 15% discount on framing. That’s all you need to do, you don’t need any paperwork. Kim and her staff are top notch, and will take care of your enlargement for you. The shop is huge, and there is an extensive array of choices in framing.
That’s it! You’ll have an ultra high quality print, from a beautiful image of your family. Remember, you receive two of these sessions with every Groupon purchased! (please read the Groupon details about scheduling the sessions). If you are interested in using your images in more ways, such as Christmas cards, smaller or larger prints, canvas gallery wraps, or even full family albums, we will have samples to view and can take orders for them on-site the same day. We even have custom calendars for next year! (no additional purchase is required).
.Let’s Schedule Your Session!
First things first, let’s schedule your session. We have set our sessions start date to begin on July 31st in order to give you time to prepare for your session. Simply choose whatever available date and time fits your schedule. If online scheduling isn’t your thing, a phone number will be available for you to reach our scheduling associate. Sounds simple, right? Well, it is, but please be aware that we expect a huge response from our Groupon, so we must use our time very wisely in order to do our very best for everyone, without compromising anything. So, please know that once dates and times have been scheduled, they cannot be changed (except in cases of bad weather and special circumstances).
The “constant” schedule will be this;
1) Every weekday after 4 (ish) until the sun goes down. (we chose this time of day for the quality of light in the evening) This decision, however, minimizes the number of sessions we can can do per day, so we made the expiration date well into 2012.
2) Most weekends will be completely open. However, we are also wedding photographers so some Saturdays will be booked.
3) We have arranged for online session scheduling. Please check this blog after the Groupon finishes to schedule your session.

.The Location – Palmer Park
Centrally located, beautiful, and with it’s stunning view of the Front Range, Palmer Park was the easy choice for these portraits. If you feel uncomfortable in front of the camera, but still want a Colorado Portrait to show off where you live to your friends and family, this semi-private location is for you. Very easy to find, and easy to get to, the final image will appear to have been taken high up in the mountains, but in reality is only steps away from the parking lot.
Directions – Enter Palmer Park from Maizeland Rd. Head to the top of the park. When you reach the summit and appear to be heading back down the hill, take the left at the 3-way intersection that is at the top of that hill. Take the immediate right onto the dirt road. The road will dead-end at the parking lot. You will see a white Toyota Tacoma truck with a camper shell. You’re there! It’s very easy to find. Enter the park, go to the top of the hill, take a left, then a right and you’re there. We’d give you street names, but as you can see from the map, every road appears to be named “Paseo”. Take Paseo until you reach Paseo. Take a left on Paseo, then a right on the dirt road that has no name. We’ll call that one “Fred”.

Finally, due to Groupon’s policy on offering “like promotions”, we are unable to offer this deal outside of our Groupon itself. Meaning that per Groupon’s policy, this deal must be purchased from Groupon TODAY (monday, July 26th). Our agreement with Groupon also states that we cannot offer “like promotions” for a full 90 days after our Groupon runs for its scheduled 24 hours on Groupon’s site. We intend to honor this policy. So go, go now, back from whence you came and purchase thy Groupon with haste, and please share this opportunity with your family and friends!
